We created these NerdyKeppie exclusive designs for "Historically Queer: LGBTQIA+ Historical Figure Enamel Pins", our 2023 Kickstarter. Each pin measures 1.75 inches across and features a queer historical figure, surrounded by flowers in appropriate flag colors.
Anne Lister & Ann Walker, who undertook what is largely understood to be the first modern English lesbian wedding, make our second dual-pin set! Anne Lister's diaries offer a unique glimpse into lesbian and bisexual women's lives in the 19th century - at least, such society as was available to English aristocracy.
Note that there are no known images of Ann Walker, and this pin is based on other images of English gentry from the time period and such descriptions as Spider was able to find of Ann.
As a lesbian themself, Spider has chosen the flag they feel most comfortable with, the Sapphic/Inclusive Lesbian/Lesbian Flag For Everyone, based on a poetry fragment of Sappho's. Ann and Anne are also available in rainbow pride colors.
