We created these NerdyKeppie exclusive designs for our 2023 Pride season! Our "Faygele Little Bird" matte sticker measures 2 inches across and has a opaque white background. This sticker reads, “Faygele” in Yiddish, with an American traditional sparrow in blues and pinks.
In Yiddish, "Faygele" literally means 'little bird' but also means 'queer', similar to the English phrases 'fruity' or 'light in the loafers'. Originally used to refer to men who either were or were perceived as homosexual, its usage has spread through queer Yiddishkeit and it has been reclaimed as a badge of honor. We are as beautiful as all of the little birds G-d created, as colorful and gorgeous as can be. This American Traditional tattoo-style swallow is rendered in colors chosen from the original eight-stripe Pride flag for our Faygele design.
